II. ENS Endorses the ESC’s Guidelines on Syncope

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) has just issued Guidelines on the Diagnosis and Management of Syncope (Clinical Practice Guidelines). The ENS endorses these Guidelines in order to facilitate high-level medical and scientific standards in neurology. IV. Abstract Submission Deadline for 19th ENS Meeting: February 11, 2009

The Scientific Committee of the European Neurological Society’s Nineteenth Meeting (June 20-24, in Milan, Italy) has issued a Call for Papers. Deadline for abstract submission is February 11, 2009. V. Tickets Accessible Online for Orchestra Concert in Berlin with Daniel Barenboim

During the 20th Annual Meeting of the ENS in Berlin, June 19-23, 2010, a concert by the State Orchestra of Berlin will take place on Monday evening, June 21, 2010, in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert hall, a hall distinguished by its unique architecture and acoustics. Following an introductory presentation at 7.15 p.m., the renowned conductor and soloist Daniel Barenboim will begin the concert at 8 p.m. Programme of the evening is:

Ludwig van Beethoven, Piano Concert No. 3 in C minor, opus 37;

Anton Bruckner, Symphony No. 5 in B major.

VII. Deadline for ‘Young Neurologist in Training Offer’ is January 20, 2010, for Attendance to the Berlin Meeting

The ENS is pleased to offer once again a limited number of grants to support young neurologists to attend the 20th ENS Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, June 19-23, 2010. This Young Neurologist in Training Offer includes:

· Free congress registration,
· Free admission to teaching courses,
· Free accommodation from Saturday to Wednesday,

to European neurologists in training born on or after January 1, 1975.

Applicants should provide a letter from the chairperson of their department to certify that they are in training, as well as a copy of their valid passport.

Application is only available online at (www.ensinfo.org).

Deadline for applications: January 20, 2010. Applications without the required documents or arriving after this date will not be considered.

VIII. Travel Grant to Attend 20th ENS Meeting in Berlin

The European Neurological Society will support young scientists (born on or after January 1, 1975) who wish to attend the Twentieth ENS Meeting in Berlin, Germany, June 19-23, 2010, with a travel grant. Scientists with an excellent abstract accepted for presentation at the meeting will be considered for a travel grant. Deadline for submission of an application is: January 20, 2010.

This is separate and independent of the application for the ‘Young Neurologist in Training Offer’.

Interested scientists should click the appropriate checkbox during the online abstract submission process. You will be required to upload a copy of your passport as proof of eligibility. Prepare this document in one of the following formats: MS Word document, gif, jpg or pdf file.

Applications without passport copy or arriving after January 20, 2010 will not be considered.
