If you joined the society in 2007, no need to renew your membership as it is valid until the end of 2008! You will be receiving the new and exclusive member newsletter in the coming weeks.

ISRS 2007 OVERVIEW AND RESULTS

Thank you once again for being present at the 8th ISRS Congress & Exhibition (San Francisco, June 2007), a Congress that broke record attendance with more than 550 participants! We hope that the event has once again succeeded in providing you with first hand knowledge, experience and networking from doctors, physicians, industry experts and the entire research community in the Stereotactic Radiosurgery field.

ANNOUNCING THE ISRS 2009 CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION

The 9th bi-annual Congress and Exhibition of the ISRS will take place in May/June 2009 in Seoul, South Korea. It will be innovative in format and content, and will showcase cutting edge developments in all domains of Stereotactic Radiosurgery. To learn more, visit www.isrs2009.org.

SEASONS GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

For many of us, the holiday season is always a time of reflection. We find it so hard to believe that yet another year has passed and are reminded of how quickly time goes by. At this time of year, we think back on the successes and struggles of the past year and of the new relationships we have formed while remembering the ones that have always been so very important and close to us. It is also a time to give thanks for the good fortune in our lives and to keep in mind that the struggles are also a gift in a way, as they help us grow and lead the way new experiences and opportunities.

In this respect, I would like to take a few moments to thank the many people who made 2007 such a success for the ISRS Society. To Bob Smee, our past president, our board members, the ISRS 2007 Congress Chairmen, David Larson and Michael McDermott, the Scientific Committee members and of course our Society Secretariat and Congress Organizers – ICEO. Without your hard work, innovative ideas and enthusiasm, we never would have achieved the successes accomplished in the past two years. I would also like to thank our congress sponsors, especially those who return year after year. Without your support, the ISRS Congress would not be possible. And we would also like to thank all our society members and the attendees to the ISRS 2007 Congress. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and friendship with us. With its 550 participants, the ISRS 2007 meeting in San Francisco was a great success.

We do not only reflect on the past at this time of year, but we also think about what the future will bring. I am sure that our next bi-annual congress in Seoul, Korea will enlighten us in many ways once again. The planning and preparations for this congress are fully underway and with the support of Prof. Kim and his team, the scientific program is sure to be as interesting as it will be informative. We are looking forward to hosting the congress in such a bustling and exotic city. A key date coming up is February 2008. During this month, we will announce the dates and venue for the 2009 congress. Be sure to visit the website at www.isrs2009.org to read all the latest developments and plans for the next edition of the ISRS Congress. I am looking forward to seeing you all in Seoul in 2009.
